Recommended or Preferred choice of Oil!

Hi, i just wanted to know what is the dealer recommended oil for the DC5 grade etc?

Also whats the preferred choice amongst enthusiasts?

Any good fully synthetic brand is OK. Brands like Motul, Silkolene, Castrol etc.

0W-30 is often reccomended, but it is too thin for my liking. I use 5W-30 or 5W-40 Silkolene Pro S in mine.

TGM slapped in Castrol Edge 10w60 in the last oil change and not looked back. :lol:

He gave me some of that stuff last time i was down...been using it for top-ups

Nick, thought it wasn't a good thing to mix oil since your on Silkolene Pro stuff??

Probably won't make much difference if its for topping up and change every 6k.

I guess the most common rating used so here is 5w40 then.

Andy, care to save some of the used oil and sell it on since its still going to be fairly clean with only 4k used. :lol:

:shock: :shock: Why are you using this stuff? It is way way out of grade for these cars, high revving V-techs do not like thick oils, its just going to lead to premature wear, lower power and higher fuel costs.

No need to go any thicker than a good SAE40.
