HI..

After owning the car for 5 years got round to replacing the stereo :)

Installed a kenwood KDC-BT92SD using an ISO connector (there was a mass of wires from the old stereo that I left in place as I didnt know what they were doing :) old unit was a flip out display CD unit plus another unit with TV/sat nav/hdd etc that never turned on.)

I presume there was a band expander fitted as I could get most radio stations on the JDM unit.

But now with the new head unit fitted I can only receive a few stations , do you need to disconnect the band expander when fitting a UK head unit?

Its not a big deal as I rarely listen to the radio and even less likely now as I can play from my ipod/iphone/sd card and cd :)

Thanks...
Stu.

you need to remove the band expander as the jdm radios dont use the same frequency as us, BUT you aslo need to connect the power as the ariel has an amplifier which needs power, i never found radio reception particularly good,
