Rev based whining noise - opinions?!

Hiya

I started a topic a while back about a whine which I thought was pulley related. A new tensioner and belt was fitted anyway but the noise is still there. I've taken the belt off and started the car and it's made no difference (I think!)

The car is booked in at grinspeed for a service so they will check. The whining is there even when the clutch is pressed and the engine is revved, so the box is safe.

Anyone had any similar issues!

P.S it's not heat shields!!!!

Is it mechanical do you think? My old car had a whine and it was coming through the car speakers. Bad ground caused it. Needle in a haystack finding the ground though

Mine was the steering pump. Could be worth checking
