Has anyone successfully put a roof rag on their teg to cary a surf board? I have a 7'10 board which I'm sure I can fit inside but wouldn't mind get a rack for. What brand did you go for?

I dont think you can get a roof rack for it, I am not sure that one would fit as it has no fixings on the roof :?

You could put it on top of your spoiler, fit amber flashers and display wide load signs

I had a thule system thatfitted on my old EP3 and I'm hoping it will work on the DC5. It slots into the rain gutters on the top and uses an extra support due to there only being one door. Have yet to try it out

I had a similar problem but I have 2 sometimes 3 kayaks to carry around. I looked around for roofracks but never found anything suitable.

I have now had a completely removable towbar fitted to the back and I bought a small mesh atv trailer. Saves getting salt water anywhere near the teg and has made my life much easier.

I can take some picks of how it was done if anyone interested. When it is removed you can't tell at all that it was there.

I know a lot of people wouldn't want to make mods like this to their car but i'm in this ownership for the long haul so needed to make the car practical. I have a 14ft speed boat which I also needed to tow.

I doubt the DC5 has any legal towing weight does it?
this is what i thought as the towing weight is normally found on the chasis plate, and having looked i couldnt see it (unless the jap lettering as anyting to do with it).

but then if Croccy has one its worth finding out...

I had it custom made by my mechanic. I'll try and take some pics soon if it stops raining long enough.

I havn't tried towing the boat yet as the weather has been so naff I have had no reason to move it. I'm taking it to it's winter storage very soon though so i'll let you know. I can't see it having any problems at all though. My 1.6 Escort used to tow it fine and I have no issues with the trailer on the teg loaded up with all sorts of stuff.
