S1 Lambda probe

Hi guys, my car is on the Honda garage as the EML was on, they have told me the "S1 Lambda probe" needs replacing.

As I don't want them to rip me off does anyone have any prices of what they cost and also is there a better place than the stealers to buy them?

Also, as I'm a bit none technicle what exacly does it do

if it is the o2 sensor then i had mine ripped out of the cat on the motorway (don't ask!!) and it needed a new one, was around £140 if i remember correctly :evil: :xrealangry:

Yeh they've quoted me £206.25 fitted so that would sound about right, plus the other £34 for the diagnostic test!

it controls your AFR, without it the car runs open loop all the time rather than only during vtec, off the map in the ecu and will suffer from poor economy.
in closed loop the o2 sensor is used to monitor and advise the ecu to adjust fuel requirements to suit.

They are important and should be fitted
