Just finished my 2nd week back at work and the car is due a service so treated it to some stuff tonight:

HONDA INTEGRA DC5 TYPE R NGK IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS - £36.98

Honda Integra DC5 Type R Replacment Fuel Filter - £11.90

2x JDM HAMP OIL FILTER HONDA INTEGRA DC5 TYPE R K20 - £19.50

BOSCH WIPER BLADE PAIR WIPERS Honda Integra DC5 type R - £8.95

Replacement sponge filter for HKS Super Power induction kit - £19.99

Silkolene Pro S 5W40 5 litres - £39.83

Silkolene Pro S 5W40 1 litre (for any top ups) - £9.18

x2 Amsoil Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid MTF - £22.22

Magnetic sump plug - £5.50

Cost about £200 altogether with postage included!

Do these things seem ok? Anything else anyone would recommend doing? The car has just turned 60k miles. Had a good search of the forum to find out all the different things that people recommended buying, was very useful :D

Also looking at this clutch on eBay as i think mine is needing changed - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Competition-clutc ... 4aa3b28b96

Seems to be Tom @ TGM selling it...does it seem decent enough?

Thanks

Do i really need brake fluid for a service??

I'll change the coolant also with some new anti freeze as winter is coming up!

I have a HKS mushroom filter so can't change that but could maybe do with cleaning it, not sure what i need for cleaning it though as i think they are dry kits, do i just find a replacement foam filter?

Magnetic sump plug is this necessary? :-k

Cheers for the reply

Edit: Just went and bought a HKS replacement sponge filter for the one i have, cost £20 on eBay :xcheers:

Good going, mines going in for an overhaul in November, where did you get a fuel filter that cheaply from though?

I got it from eBay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-Integra-DC5 ... 359e9fe350

There wasn't many fuel filters on there, but they are around the same prices.. You not thinking of the fuel pump, which costs a good bit more?

I got the engine oil and gearbox oil from Opie Oils, get a good discount aswell for being a member of this site

Also just bought a magnetic sump plug as advised.. Since the other plug will be coming off for the oil change i suppose i might aswell fit a magnetic one, every little helps!

This is costing a fortune, about £200 altogether now LOL and thats before any garage bill for doing the work! Worth every penny though, hope the car appreciates it :xlol:

This is the first full service i've had to do though, have done a mini service already in between services, just the oil filter and oil changed

magnetic plugs arent necersary but i would advise them, they cost a couple of pound and DO Work. help to take metal particals out of the oil which would/could otherwise help to increase engine wear. Gearbox also doesnt have a filter so any metal shavings will be captured by the plug and reduce wear. for a couple of pound why not.

As for brake fluid id do it every 2 years or every service, again it only costs £12 to do.

That ebay link for the fuel filter, doesn't look like the fuel filter on a DC5. Pretty sure they are a Honda only part too. Part no. 16010-S5A932

It should look like this:

And it's an in tank filter.

Hmmm thats a bit odd, i'll have a look when it arrives, maybe the pic is just a pic they use for all stock...seems that they just stick a pic of a fuel filter onto their fancy background design and put that as the main pic for the listing!

I'll check it when it arrives, cheers :D

I was going to say the fuel filter you posted up looked nothing like the one Dave from Steels sent me, which is the same as the last picture!

I think I've spent about £500 on consumables  but that includes MU pads, HEL lines etc etc, s'all good fun!!

Just booked my DC5 in for a level 3 service at Honda, spark plugs and all that. She's just clocked 80k

Cost £230 do all you guys go to Honda is that recommended/expected or do buyers accept Cars with non Honda services or is a service by the dealer preferred?

Views/comments :xhelp:

I prefer it to be with a Honda specialist but honda's ok.
Who would you recommend I'm Hertfordshire way ta
TGM in Fleet, saying that it is about a 50 mile drive, but worth it IMO.
Any excuse for a nice drive :D I'm gunna call them tomorrow and cancel Honda, I've read lots good things about these guys so will take my service as an opportunity to have a chat wanna start putting some mods on looking for wheels, exhaust, induction etc.

I am quite fortunate, my other half lives in Basingstoke which is around 15-20 minutes from TGM, my car came from Letchworth (chief) and has been looked after by TGM in the four years he owned it.

About to do a oil change on my teg, how much does it take once it's drained? 8-[
About 4 and a half litres, a 5 litre tub will do it with a dribble left over!

I got some of the stuff today and the fuel filter i got looks nothing like the one in the pic on page 1 :-s Looks just the same as it shows in the eBay advert, is it the wrong one then? It's strange cos they are a company who sell parts for imports, dunno why they've got it so wrong? :xconfused:
