Anyone had there standard dampers rebuilt by a uk specialist? Any recommendations?

Thought about bilstein b6s but our showa shocks are probably on par, So no point.

Thanks.

Maintainance free bud. Don't think they can be rebuilt? I replaced mine with brand new oem and not regretted it.

Didn't know that.

Apparently, had a look on google to see who in the UK rebuilds shocks. Quite a few of them list our Showa dampers, how much was new dampers?

Rebuilding cost works out on what I've seen £300-400.

Hi jimmer,

What was the reason you replaced your OE items? I'm guessing there was some wear in them and vaguely remember you saying you had some handling issues. Was there a clear improvement?

I have play and poor handling ATM and am looking towards an OE replacement

Not so much handling issues, i just wanted to refresh everything suspension wise so attacked bits every month really.

Id been holding out on the shocks until last minute, but they had covered 140k and the mot last year picked up slight misting so that was all the reasons I needed to buy new. Got them from Burn motorsports, and yes, they just abiy more perky than my last set. A little less tired shall we say. :)

Ive not regretted it atall as i know these will now out last the car. Lol i looked at coilovers but tbh the abuse tue old ones took, and the size of the pistons, for my needs a decent spring and fresh oem shocks are the perfect combination for me. ;)
