As the title says, this car has the same pulling power and the same top end as my dc5, yet mine has a dc sports manifold, Izegan (can't spell) exhaust and induction kit, where it just has an exhaust and induction kit?
How does this work? 1.8ltr 190bhp Celica ....2.0ltr 205bhp dc5?
Any ideas?
Just interested... and did just spend alot of money on a manifold lol.....

would appreicate your comments.

lol right. Two problems with both comments. one, its my mates car and we have a quite competitive side to each others car. And its definately got what i said its got. And as for me not being able to drive.... its a possibility... but didn't really think there was much in a straight line race. Wasn't hitting the rev limiter, always in the vtec etc??

what do you think?

Firstly a standard DC5 is 217bhp and not 205bhp.

As for not being able to pull away from him, I haven't got the answer, but it points to the driver I'm afraid. The DC5 is lighter, has more power and more torque.

How many mississippi's can you count between your gear changes? :D

I've had a little "play" with a celica T-sport and only just managed to pull away at higher speeds. Lower down I had him licked but they seem to almost get a 2nd wind higher up. Even if I could have one for free, I wouldnt have one over my dc5 :D

my brother drives a carolla t-sport and they are a very quick car standard it would keep up me off the line but once the tegg hits vtec it can't keep up and i don't vtec the car till second gear, so i think your mate is driving the :xshot: out that celica just to try beat u while your been a bit more careful at the back of your mind :)
so open her up next time and drove it like u stole it :xvtec:

Are we talking about the VVTL-I engine here?

Around 70+ you should be getting away from him as the 0-100 for them is around 19 seconds or so. That particular engine does have an aggressive changeover on cam (more like a B-series VTEC) so it's not surprising that it was staying with you in VTEC.

Not trying to be cheeky but you mentioned that your DC5 has only 205bhp - have you got a Type R or is that some rolling road figure?

Official figure is 7.1 :p
the figure i have it 6.5! cos i checked after i played with one! not my facts so dont shoot me! just the internet!
and there are close to 200 bhp which forgot all the bollox wether the dc5 is 220 or 217 20 bhp doesnt make that much difference, my old escort is n/a 150bhp and will not loose a 170 bhp turbo'd escort(keeps up with ease), my teg was 240 put against a standard one in a straight line just pulled a car length, just face it guys some cars will compete against ours!
i played with one like i said and i was suprised how quick it was in a striaght line, you got to be a complete demick not to be able to drive fast in a striaght live!

As above.

20bhp in the real world is not going to be that different.

When i had my Kpo'd CTR running 236 bhp, the difference on a standard CTR wasnt much more than a few car lengths over approx 1/2 mile
