Rear speakers are slightly smaller than 16.5cm as I have just tried to replace mine :?

Will either have to do some filling down or get some others.

Not sure about the fronts yet.

Hey James, Your speakers deffinatly don't look standard! Be interesting to see if they have modifed the panel to get em in..?
Its a little hard to tell from your pics, but what shape have they molded the panel around
the speaker..?

I took mine down to the local ICE specialists for there opinion on them..
was a little hard to get anythin out of em coz they would'nt shut up about the car..
how nice it was, was it fast?.. and "wow this is the car I've got on Need for Speed Underground!.. it's an RSX is'nt it?"

As nice as all the compliments were, I managed to get them back on the matter at hand..
there was some mention of a speaker bracket for Vaux Corsa that mite do the job?.. anyone know what their on about?

The final consensus of opinion was.. "leave em where they are mate!.. and change the fron ones instead"..
Which is'nt a bad idea actually coz I am in the front afta all.. but still Id like to at least have the option!..

James any luck with mounting behind the panel?..

I made the speakers I had fit for now as a temp solution.

When the weather is better and days longer, I am going to look at taking the rear trim panels out to allow installation of the speakers behind them.

The other alternative I considered it what you suggested, Corsa speaker mounts look like they could fit then install 5.25" speakers in them.

Guess for £14 might be worth a try. Only poblem now is my speakers are so well wedged in I am not sure if will get them out.

The final speakers that I fit coulddepend on what I find on ebay.

I had no problems upgrading the speakers. I’ve fitted Alpine SXS1757 speakers in the front (165 mm DIN), go straight in, I then moved the old fronts to the rear as mine also came without rears.

What was involved in moving the front speakers to the rear? cutting etc?

Still can't get over how "toy like" the rear speakers are.. How did the fronts look?

I moved the fronts to the back No cutting required, very easy, however the sound is so so, really needs some good base speakers so I think some time I will upgrade. no rears in mine when it came

Just had a look and the fronts are the same as the rears just in a different housing so I'm pretty keen to replace all of them..

Not sure if I will put a full range speaker in the front and leave the factory tweeters in or replace the lot with a new component system.

The fronts measure 155mm but you can put bigger in as the factory speakers have a built in mount which is also replaced. The major consideration would be the fit with door panel as the factory setup has a snug interaction thing going on.

While the fronts are smaller than rears it's because they are clipped in as opposed to screwed in and have a smaller surround.. The cone and magnet appear to be the same.
