our speedo shows 180km but..........

when im at 40kph passing one of those slow down signs it shows 40mph

does this mean our car is in mph but showing kph on the speedo?

It probably hasn't had the sticker put over the KM/h on the display.

Not a situation you would want to be in with speed cameras etc!

ahh I wasn't sure, I was watching videos on youtube and theres lots of arguments about the speedo, its pretty clear that 40 kph aint 40 mph but its best to check incase I did get cought speeding,

in this case I wonder what miles are on my car, its showing 91000 but this will be a mix

It will be a mix, unless you can dig up the old service history or speak to the old owner and find out when it was done?

Mine was a fresh import, everything was in KM and when I fitted the converter I had a local mileage correction company convert the km into mileage so I know exactly when it was fitted and the current mileage on the car is correct!

I don't know why people woundnt correct the mileage instead of having a mix? It would certainly make selling the car in the future a hell of a lot easier! And also peace of mind

Yup, I'm glad I got my mileage corrected, looks better having a lower number too.
