Speedometer km/h to mph and top speed

Hello All,
I'm writing this for my friend who owns DC5 bought in UK.
He has one question. In order to register and go through inspection he had to get a converter which plug ins somewhere into the wires and it changes km/h to mph.

Now the question is, if he removes this converter will the speed limit of 180km/h come back? Apparently this is the top for Japanese version. Are these two things totally separated and it has nothing to do with each other?

I thought they were limited to 112 kmh?

And I can only speak to my purchase, but the delimiting was not part of the conversion.
I had to ask them to do it.

112 mph = 180 km/h

Most converters will delimit as well.

Doesn't delimit so to speak. Ecu is set to cut ignition at the magic 180. Stock that's 112mph but once the speedo is converted that ends up being 180mph so thumbs up!
