Speedometer

Today after cleaning the car, my speedometer (everything else on the odometer was working) didnt work and also engine check light came on.
After i got home and waxed the car first i connected my laptop on the kpro started the engine, no light came on and there are no DTC codes in kpro.
Drove for a minute and the speedometer was working, no problems.

is this maybe the converter on the gearbox for the mph is going dead?? any suggestions??

most likely is the convertor, could it have got wet? there seems to be several of these type problems recently, on similar aged cars, i expect when they are fitted for the sva test, they are not done quite as well as they should be and over time the connections corrode and start to cause problems,

I dont think it's the alternator though

Dont know if it got wet, guess i should keep it in check!
if i have to buy a new one, where to get?? andy200bhp??

yep andy uses the better ones, he had a post somewhere about them, it seems the most logical option to me.
