SRS Light issue

Hi Folks,

Having an issue with my SRS light, came on the other day without warning,

Tried the reset, but the light stays on constantly.

I've diagnosed the light and I'm getting 3-1 which says "open or increased resistance in drivers seat belt tensioner"

As this is the RSX i'm going to assume this is the passenger side of us RHD folk.

Does anyone know how to check the seat belt tensioner? How to get at it and how much one costs if I need to replace it?

Thanks

Where are you located nicky?

It could be the tensioner itself, the wiring or the Control unit.

Personally, without the right test equipment..

I'd swap the drivers for the passenger side tensioner and see if the fault moves sides.

If so, you know the tensioner itself is at fault.

If the fault remains in the same place, it could be the wiring or C/unit.

Make sure you disconnect the battery and discharge your static on the door striker plate before removing any pyro components though.

Just to confirm, when you followed the reset procedure did you get the confirmation flashes followed by it going out before it came back on solid?

It can be a pain to reset sometimes!

Out of interest what's the code for when it's the steering wheel? I could have sworn it was that which gives the code of 3-1 but it's probably my crap memory!
