Hi guys, I had my DC5 for 2 months now and I believe it still has the standard speed limiter, the car was imported from TorqueGT back in 2012 (Topgeezers old car) I have spoke to them and there is no record left if it was ever done or not.

any suggestions on how to tackle this on? I have heard theres different ways of de limiting it? I'm not gonna sit at that speed anyway lol its just nice to know its all free after 112mph
and where is the best place to get it done?

thanks in advance guys!

Take it for a quick VTEC and find out any specialist will be able to do it

Mine was the same when I bought it, torque gt did not take the limiter off and had no records to show it, but when I got my car mapped it got taken off 😆

Sounds like you have a KPH:MPH converter that is at the clocks/ECU end rather than the gearbox end, which is odd.

I had this on mine as well and it was imported 11 years prior to me buying it. It was caused by the converter being behind the dash rather than at the gearbox end like adamlstr said above.

I wasn't too bothered on sorting it, but I had another problem with the speedometer and needed a new converter. I found one for sale on here from "Saint Matt" and when I got there he offered to fit it as well and explained if he did it at the gearbox end instead it would remove the 112mph limit. If you're near the midlands area and don't fancy doing it yourself I'd consider dropping him a message.

A convertor on the gearbox end doesn't remove the limit; the limit is now 180MPH - which a DC5 is never going to hit!

True haha. Can't say I have ever come across this being an issue and don't plan to lol!
