just out of interest, when the car is idling and if you accidently start the engine again.
will this cause any harm to the engine or starter motor? i know the noise doesnt sound good.

It wont do any harm, once or twice but try not to make a habit out of it

You talking about when the engine is already started and you turn the key again? Everyone might do that once a year, not going to cause any harm if thats the case.

Your more likely to screw the teeth on the starter motor or flywheel than any long term serious damage if you do it often.
