Strange grinding noise on full lock?

Hi guys,

When im at the slower speeds and turning on full/ 3 quarters steering lock I sometimes hear what can be described as a slight grinding?
Definately not a clicking noise but its hard to explain.

Can anyone shed some light?

Have you got lowering springs?
That is a common problem if you have.. It's just the spring binding as the coils are quite close together.

If there oem I had to replace the top mounts on mine as they got grit and crap in them over the winter a few years back.

Hi there, No I dont have lowering springs, car is standard ride height.

I also have noticed a strange clonk noise at slow speeds on full lock aswell............

ARB aswell for me, i think my front right needs looked at aswell.

Had this problem in my DC2.

When in full lock i would get a clunking noise. Turned out it was my outer CV joint needing replaced. If you get a loud clunking noise when accelerating or decelerating it is usually the inner CV joint.

Cheers guys, Im taking her in to carden at the end of next month as I think my clutch may be on its way out. Will ask them to take a look at it.
