Hello all,
I was looking to post to inquire on possibly figuring out what the smell that's emanating from my vehicle could be, as it seems to be something that's not too dissimilar from gasoline whenever standing outside the vehicle, however I don't see any leaks on the ground, and it's not able to be smelled from inside the vehicle. I also don't have a lit check engine light that could indicate if the evap system is leaking.
I have checked the fuel pump area that I've read on this and other forums that is a common problem area on these cars, and it seems like there isn't any puddling or leaking of gasoline when the vehicle is started, but there appears to be some kind of stain there.
I have also been told though that the dc5 type r does emanate a smell similar to what I describe due to something involving the cat being a higher flow than a standard cat, does this hold any truth to it? From what I know, the vehicle is bone stock besides a head unit.
