Ticking noise when idling

Anyone ever have this, it seems to be getting a bit louder

I had a noise on tickover, thought it was a million different things before finally I realised it was the Alarm siren bracket loose, screwed to the baulk head in a very half arsed way.

I now have the Engine Fault light on!

Started the car and it wouldnt pick up its revs, was struggling, then died out after 5 secs.

Restarted the engine, no problem but the light is still on. Been thinking it has been sounding a bit ruff for the past couple of days.

Any suggestions. At the moment I am thinking electrical?

Take it to Honda and get them to read the cell codes to find out what was the cause of the cel or you can try this http://www.k-series.com/tech_detail.php?Tech_ID=CEL

Once you know which cel was thrown then you can go about fixing it.

Ticking noise found with the aid of a stethoscope - fuel pulsation damper.

Anyone ever had this before, could it be an underlying problem with the fuel pump or regulator?

Also, the Engine CEL light, got a code 57 out of it - either Camshaft Position Sensor getting no signal or an intermittent one or the Variable Valve Timing Control (VTC) Phase Gap. Anyone had this before. Interestingly the Engine CEL light went off without me even clearing it - Gremlins??

Maybe a fuel problem could have sent this off??
