Tyre size help.

i'm planning on buying some 17"x8" wheels, i was wondering what profiles to go for as i'm abit concerned about them eating my arches.

any help would be ideal.

215 will be a stretch surely on 8" as designed for 7". I'm sure they'll go on but how safe will they be driving quick and on track, unless your going low and slow look?

Might be better 225 with a 40 profile?

Running 225/45 on my 17x8 ET48 Rotas with no rubbing or problems. Check my garage for pics, the 225 are just a nice stretch on 8" rims and the they fill the wheel arches nicely.
