I am looking to get some new tyres for the stock rims.

would going from a 45 profile > to a 40 make much off a difference on the handling?

Also is there much point going from a 215 to a 225 profile?

what tyres would recommend for road and track use?


I have been looking at Toyo T1-R's or Falken FK 451's

I am planing to go a few track days this year as well, so if any one has any reviews of these one a track this would be welcome.

I think the Toyo is an excellent Tyre but very soft,

The side walls will wear very quickly if you are looking to do some Trackdays,

I think Mike went for a 215/40/17 Toyo's and has no problems,
also Simon has gone for the Toyo's.

Mine originally had Yoko A046s on and they were very hard.
Not so good in the wet,but good on track or when warm & dry.

Got Toyos on now and can't say they are that good in the wet either,though some swear by them.

Had one half-wet,half-dry track day at Donny with these and they seemed ok,but not as grippy as the Yokos.

BTW:My Toyos are the S's not the R's.

Toyo is very good for price.

Good year F1 a bit better then Toyo. but cost a bit more.

B.Stone RE050 is very good!!!!!!!!! full marks almost for everything at review.

hmmmm cheers guys.

i know i had toyo's on the CTR and there very weak in the walls :evil:

Thats the T1-S though, so i dunno what the R's are like.

ill have a look @ the RE50's then.

just got a quote for 4 toyo T1S from demon thieves

£86 each fitted and balanced new valves

is this ok?

as the tyres on the teg will need replacing b4 lemans

T1S's i can get for nr 50 quid a corner fitted.

oooh your going Le Mans

i was going to take the ctr but now thats been sold lol

Toyo T1S' are runout models now they are supplying T1Rs,good prices can be got in lots of places.

Trackwise,it's up to what you feel good with.

Try the new Dunlop track dayjobbies before you go cut slicks,around £95 a corner if you shop around.

Hard as hell to find info on these for some reason.

Not too sure on the price now as I think they could have been about £112 a corner (too many vodkarised brain cells)

I know Chris (Sharpey) bought his from the trye truck at Donnington track day with Goldtrack.

Dunlop website don't list them for some reason :|

They're in Demon Tweeks Motorsport 2005 brochure but not on their website either :?
