Valve clearances.

I had my valve clearances adjusted about 2 months ago, since then the car has been driving fine but there seems to be more engine noise, it‘s like a ticking/injector noise? I thought it may have calmed down but it hasn‘t changed, the car was definitely quieter before they were adjusted. Has anyone experienced this before?

K20 injectors are very noisy, and make a noise identical to slack valve clearances. If the noise gets louder as the car heats up it's probably valve clearances. Easy enough to check yourself though with a feeler gauge.

Only way to tell the difference on k seires is to put your head between engine head and inlet manifold. If it's louder in one ear than the other......

Put cotton wool.in the other to balance it out
