What is a B-pipe??

obviously with a question like this im a newbie to the dc5! but im confused about the manifold and exhaust system. if i remember rightly tegiwa say a de-cat is incorparated in there manifold?? is a decat a B-pipe?? ive beem under tha car and theres loads of boxes under there that look like there restricting the flow of air??

can someone please tell me how it works from manifold to back box??

B pipe is the middle part of the exhaust, from the manifold to the back box.

Hopefully this will explain it:


It's the section of piping from the catalytic converter back to the muffler. On our cars it contains the resonator.

Cat-back is just slang for a catalytic-back setup, meaning that you can keep your stock catalytic converter to remain street legal. Usually they consits of a B-pipe, a muffler, and maybe a few smaller pipes for connection reasons.

You are correct.

So the B-pipe is in fact the part between the manifold and back box.

Obviously this is for a civic not a dc5 so the parts look a bit different but the layout is pretty much the same
