back in the good old days when hondas were pants, skys were blue and i was young, and every lad had a escort, we used to take off the springs, grind of a couple of coils, compress then and refit,
now back in the nowadays where hondas are possible the best car in the world, skys arent so blue and ive still got a escort? (welll till ebay sells it?)
what would happen if i cut a coil or two of the springs than had a fast road set up?
i know some cars we couldnt cut because the coil changed shape a the top and bottom
spoon lowering springs are just softer, thats why they lower the car?
so what we thinking?

There is no way I would be cutting springs mate.

The spirng rate would change surely and it would make it such a crap ride as well as making the sock work more.

If you want it low do it properly at least, with coilovers if the springs don't lower it enough for you, Spoon springs make the teg look nice though

Dont even think about it,
it will be overdamped and undersprung, the springs will not sit in the seats properly, the spring rate will deffinatly change. they will also be too short and will be loose on the strut when at maximum extension. (pot hole etc) when the strut compresses again they wont necessarily seat correctly thats when you get a problem.

Cutting springs could be life threatening in a car like this.

OMG I can't believe this topic has even been raised, but its a good job incase there are any crazy guys out there that have done it!

Springs aren't that expensive anyway and there are loads out there, I have the Teins and they are pretty good for fast road setup.
