I have a two concern with my dc5.

First one is when i move off in first gear i get a whining noise at low RPM.

Second one is when it's stationary and i rev it past 2.5k RPM, it gets noisy and there is also some vibration.

I think it'll be difficult to diagnose these things on a forum, but some pointers:

Wining could be belt related.. How does auxiliary belt look? Is it taught, etc. Do you get any clutch slip.

The noise: heatshields are very common to rattle. Is the exhaust held correctly, etc.

Lots of info on the forum, have a look :)

Hope that helps.

Rattle around 2 - 3 k probably drive shaft heat shield. The bolts will be tight, but it will still move by hand.

How loud a whine are we talking?
Clutch squawk? Release bearing?

Tested again today im think thinking the vibration is comming from under the car might be exhaust

Aux belt looks ok, no noise

Clutch is fine, no slipping
Will investigate further this weekend.
