Did someone just say Subaru and cheap to run in the same post? :xaiweb3:
Well mine has been.

4x Hankook Evo V12 tyres fitted was £308. Tyres last around 3 years but need to change all four.
Car tax £285
Around 300 miles per tank of fuel
Cambelt inc. Tensioners fully fitted £396
Service 30k - £282 inc pads and plugs and all fluids (Subaru main dealer)
Service 40k - £294 inc plugs and all fluids (Subaru main dealer)
Service 50k - £170 inc all fluids

Plus it's been bullit proof so far. So yeah it's been cheap and reliable.

Fuel...?

Edit: oh missed it.
About £55 to fill up and get around 300 miles a tank. Does not seem to make much difference though if you do town or motorway though.

300 miles to a tank! had a classic Impreza and max i was getting was 220! Would love to own a Forester but now cant justify fuel and insurance (joys of getting old!!)
Good friend had a Litchfield tuned STI Forester fastest thing ive been in

That's near 30mpg which is very good

Just looking at the pictures of the forester, doesn't seem that good on boot space due to the shape to be honest, but obviously has height advantage inside

To be fair, our second 2003 Impreza WRX which had two of the three cats removed and straight through exhaust only gave us about 260 - 270 miles to a tank. Our current one which is the same but an 05 and still has two cats gives us around 300 miles to a tank.
