Wrong insurance

Hi guys,

This might sounds like a stupid question but when I try and get a quote on a DC5 it either says the car is an accord or civic type r.

I have tried about 15 different reg's of DC5 but none actually say its an Integra.

Is it suppose to say that?

Because the DC5 is an import most online insurance sites don't list it. Your best bet is to try insurers who know the cars and give them a ring direct instead of using comparison sites. Greenlight, Brentacre and Sky Insurance are some of the more popular companies on here.

Better to phone tbh mate, have the same problem myself. Be very clear about the details of the car. A lot will try and insure it as a import dc2

Mine also did this when first insuring it except I had a 2.0 Accord Coupe ES from the same year, it was clear someone had tried to insure it as something as close to a DC5 as it could be but it did spring a few questions in my head about is there something a bit dodgy going on here.

My Dad is knowledgable on this subject so I asked him and he said that the customer is 0% to blame if you are ever pulled over and asked for proof of insurance etc, I wasn't convinced but he does have experience with it.

Also I'm pretty sure I once read a thread on here about someone having a crash and the insurers not paying out for new body panels even though they had rang up and specified it to be a DC5 and nothing else similar which is something to bare in mind. If it's not illegal to bat a blind eye to what the DVLA says it is and something like that would happen in the unfortunate event of an accident is it worth it? A bit of a dark subject…

Also I'd just like to make clear I do insure mine as a DC5 now.
