Xenons ?

Quickie - Done a search, and there seem to be a couple of opinions.

Q - Do DC5s come with xenons/HiDs as standard or is it a rare option ?

Q2 - Someone on a prev post said they have to be removed for the SVA test. Why ? HiDs are OK in this country, and the car is right hand drive. So what would the problem be ?

A1 AFAIK HIDs are fairly common, they were standard and optional, just depends what spec DC5 you ordered.

A2 A car needs to have automatic headlight levelling and washers if it has HIDs to be strictly legal in the UK - DC5s have neither.

Can they be switched on and off or is the unit removed??

They need to be bypassed. Generally, people disconnect the wires to the HID's power supply, extend the wires, put spade terminals on the ends and plug in a halogen bulb.
