Mate my question to you is... do you want a trackday car.. a every day road car, a car that is good on fuel (until you hit the VTEC), a car that looks good and can be modded BUT will cost a bit to get a lot more power out of it.. OR do you want a car that you can take down the lanes every sunday morning , get all your mates in nice and easy and not lose power if you decided to have a burn with another motor being 4 up!! A car that you can be easy modded without chucking to much money at it and get to 300 plus bhp, a car that might cost you a fair bit to insure and a car that will defo cost you an arm and a leg in fuel.....
Basically ask yourself them questions and you will know which car you really want...
I use to own a scooby for 3 years, which I had quite modded, 280bhp from a standard UK scooby and what do I miss the most ... the raw power of the turbo, the torque, the sound of my dump valve  and most of all the great Sunday morning drives at 5.30 on a summers morning down the lanes ...
But saying all of that the cost of fuel, insurance and the fear that any day now my engine might blow was one reason of getting rid of the car...
As for my TEG .. well what can I say... I love it... but for two reasons ... 1) it is so great to drive on track .. that is what these cars are for.. not for shopping or 0-60 runs, not for lane driving .. well not mine .. she jumps all over the place with my TEINs on, but for track.. plain and simple... the car comes into its own on track or smooth tight lanes.
and 2) well I just think they look the dogs... everyone has seen scoobies and evos.. but DC5's turn heads.. and put a body kit on it and man you have everyone stopping and looking... Well mine does and thats no lie.. the amount of times I have been in London at traffic lights and someone has taken a picture of my car ...
Now I keep going on about track.. now lets say you think.. well I dont want to do trackdays, so this car isnt for me... not true... its still a great road car with good power but once you put a bit of weight in the car your power will soon start dropping... IE get 4 in the TEG and forget about trying to use the VTEC as you will be just wasting fuel... Dont get me wrong... 4 people can get into the car with out any problems with loads of room in the boot for cases etc.. I had four of us in there all the way to Holland and back when I first got the car... but I will never do it again... I hated the fact that the car just had no power....
Way up YOUR pros and cons to the two cars and see what you want out of the car...
1.Insurance will be cheaper in the TEG than the EVO
2.Servicing will be cheaping in the TEG than the EVO
3.Pads, tyres etc will be the same
4.The EVO will have more raw power and will be easier and cheaper to mod
5.More after market stuff in the UK for the EVO than the TEG ..but it is getting better
6. I think the EVO six is a handful to drive it fast and unless you know what your doing be very careful..No ABS etc... I wanted an EVO 6 .. Best EVO (looking wise I think)
7. The TEG is just as involving to drive fast ..but it is sooo much nicer to drive than the Scooby..
8. EVO looks mean
9. TEG with a body kit looks better 8)
10. More honda dealers around so you can get it serviced with no problem and MOST parts only take 2 days to get
11. Overal running costs will be cheaper in the TEG and you WILL defo get more miles to the gallon... Plus you can (if you wish) get a Hondata ECU and run it on 95 RON making it cheaper to run if you do lots of miles.
12. Like the EVO the TEG comes with Brembo 4 pots and Brembo disc at the front and recardo Seats plus Mono steering wheel.
But hey this is just my opinon... maybe, if you havent already.. try and jump into a TEG and see what you think...
