Hondata mapping

I'm interested to hear from people on here who have had maps done who are not the regulars who get recommended, ie not CPL, TDI North, Eurospec etc.

I'm changing the intake and exhaust on my car so I just want to make sure that all is running well. I know there are more often than not tuners who are not known on forums yet do an excellent job who have been involved in motorsport/track stuff etc.

Will welcome a PM of course.

Cheers.

I've not personally had mine mapped but I know a few people who have had Aonghas from AP Performance and their cars pull like trains!

Need to fly him over from Ireland though.

I have had my car mapped by AP-performance and I can not fault the end results.
I know a good few people in Ireland who have used him also and they are always happy with the end results.

On top of that a lot of the Irish time attack Hondas are mapped by AP-performance, and are performing very well.

Rich wants my car the whole day, so not just a 30 minute full throttle tune. :)

Will arrange to drop it off one weekend and get it back the next as that works out easier for me.

Can you let me know how you get on mate. I'm desperate for a map tweak, but much less desperate for a 200 mile round trip and a day of loitering

I'm in Swindon, so Fairford is pretty much my doorstep for a mapper :)

Will do but to be honest I trust Rich and PA implicitly. Their old race car dominated VTEC challenge and I've never had anything but superb service from them be it Honda or Evo.

He won't do a tweak or K100 though.

Would be interested to know how much on top of Kpro they charge, Chris?

(And if they're able to supply the Kpro too?)

I had mine supplied and fitted by momentum motorsport. really great sevice too. I left mine with them for 3 or 4 days as i didnt need it. he took it out on the road for datalogging etc . only problem is they are based in northern Ireland. they also have a cracking website selling quaife sequential gearboxes and other goodies.

£375 plus VAT, probably steep to some but a proper map is worth paying for in my experience. I've had maps from so called 'experts' that are raved about on forums yet the part throttle mapping is usually awful. 30 minutes on a dyno at full throttle, no road tuning, no part throttle etc. Before anyone jumps on me I am not specifically talking about the ones I mention in my OP or anyone else, it's just my general observation of owning Evo's and Honda's for the past 10+ years.

Not sure about if they supply KPro though, ask Rich on info@Performance-Autoworks.co.uk

He is supposed to be very good.

Mase is good if you can get him over here from the USA ha ha!

Mase has just been over so won't be back for a while.

Found 50 bhp on my Evo at the same boost compared to a well renowned Evo specialist.

Sounds reasonable to me tbh, thanks.

My only exposure to truly 'mapped' cars are my old man's ones that MAD has done. They had a little more power than a K20 with breathing mods though. :xgrin:
