How happy are you with your standard car?

please dont laugh but my other car is a pug 309 gti with a 1.9 16valve engine in it with carbs on--I have owned this car in one shape or form for 14 years and I love it to bits. The handling for me is fantastic, turn in nice and gently(all braking done always), balance the throttle and from then on adjust the car on the throttle to give either neutral handling or understeer (too much throttle) or a little lift for a smidge of oversteer. The car is laid up at the mo fully stripped with a cage in it, but your description of the teg reminds me a lot of how my 'old' pug handles...
This is the kind of thing I am looking for in a road car...having thought about it a little, it maybe nice to have a 'little' understeer, as this would give a bit of forewarning about the road conditions ahead and save any big rear end movements!!!
By the way I also rallied a MK2 GP2 escort many years ago that did not understeer at all with hand cut slicks on, but this is taking it to the extreme of front end grip. The escort was like a large go kart but its not fair to ask that of a road car I dont think.
love the sound of the integra though!!!

Well Eddie as I said in my thread I really dont think I could be happier with my DC5.

I loved my supra but it scared the hell out of me in the wet/cold weather with the twitchy back end. I think I actually loved the looks of my supra more than anything (red veilside kitted). Brakes were nothing compared to the ones on the Teg!

Just the overall drive of the DC5 feels better (my husband will kill me for that! lol! he still has a Twin Turbo Supra and he loves it), its more responsive and feels much more in touch with the road.

Obviously I have my mods list but its nothing major, just an exhaust and induction kit (so far) as this is the "family car" :D

I had an Impreza WRX wagon before I got the DC5 and I have to say IT SUCKS!!!!!

I've had 8 cars in the 7 years I've been driving (through choice not accidents may I add) and I think this one is going to be with me for some time!!! :D

p.s. I think I may be a V-tec junkie! lol!

I take it yours was/is a MK4 Supra?
I once watched one been driven round croft on a trackday and I have to say I was very impressed at the chuckability of the car and also the speed, ( not quite as quick as the Caterham R400 I was driving though =~ ) the driver was very good and drifted the car very well!
For the DC5 to be catching hold of you so quickly into your ownership is encouraging for me, especially after you have owned so many cars previously.
I am going to the show at Donnington on Sunday to get to see the cars up close and hopefully watch some on the track(although track work will not be my prime intention for the use of the car) and see how I feel from there. :D

Yes Eddie it was a Mkiv Supra

Mark loves his to bits, hes just had it BPU'd

The lady that owns my Supe now is going Donny so look out for it! Red Veilside with big shiny RS wheels (yeah that narrows it down lol!), very low to the ground (had to avoid speed bumps like the plague!) TRD Exhaust

I've just finished washing and polishing the Teg and she looks beautiful, will post some pics up later
