I am with Adrian Flux. Some of the quotes i waas getting were more than £2k but then they beat them all! :D

I have just lost my NCB (car still in garage) so think that later inyear when plicy is up I may have problems to get insured!

Nat,

Did you have no claims protection? If so then its a "2 strikes" policy... If not then

I tried Adrian Flux last year but they didn't want to know. I think it was them - you need to be over 30? I was 29 at the time  Oh well - I may well see what they quote me this year as I am due up in a couple of months.

Rich - my old policy was with Tesco and then swaped to Adrian Flux - do you need to ask for claims protection or do you get it automatically??

You need to ask for NCP, typically you are only elligible for it after 3 to 5 years of no claims and it is at extra cost on your policy.

It basically means that if you have a fault claim that your no claims bonus is "protected". If then in the next 12 months you have another fault claim then your no claims bonus will be affected.

I am pretty sure thats how it works - been a while since I worked for an insurance company (and that was only the IT division!!)

You are best off speaking to the insurance company and finding out from them. Hope it works out in your favour! :)

??

Only difference in "is" and "r" is that the "is" comes without some of the interioir goodies(I have red recaros) and brembos and diff.( I have a quaiffe diff) Its the same engine, susp, bodywork etc. So I dont see why insurance would be cheaper?? Saying that the registration document says Integra R so I insured it as integra type R.

Blimey, that's a pretty good price then  Did you restrict the annual mileage?I'm with Direct line and lowering the mileage p.a. helped quite a bit :)

10,000 miles a year i told them. Thought that was pretty good myself and just took it and never queried price. My civic vtis was £500 and its like a pushbike compared to the integra. Ever had an S2000 ?? Im thinking of it for the summer!!

Harumph to Mark's post - maybe we should create some form of databank/poll for future renewals/newcomers?

S2k is as FAF(v.quick)but I couldn't drive to its limits as it changed its mind how to handle the same corners on different days.Perfect for the summer, though it was a little frightening in the wet :)
Database is a nice idea for future insurance. :)

Just for comparison i'm paying £1380 on my CTR with 10%power increase.

I'm 21, 3yrs NCB, SP30, parked on driveway, 14,000miles a year.

Thats with Adrian flux.

Just got a quote form Adrian Flux, I'm 26 with No claims No convictions and NCB of 9yrs. For an import Teg with no mods £16Kish and doing 10K a year with car kept on driveway and a Cat 1 alarm I was quoted £900...
I couldn't believe it, especially after some of the quotes you guys have been getting.
I guess location might have a lot to do with it, at the moment I am driving a high risk car and am paying £350 with Direct line...must be lucky I guess.

I have a question, for you all though...The stripped out race versions of the DC5, some of them are fully SVA aproved so it would be possible to use everyday on the road! Is the insurance greatly affected by this? I would say that there is no modification and the cars are cheaper to buy, the only difference is that they are stripped out of all the luxuries!?

Any thoughts?

Lucas, are you sure that's for a 2001> 2.0ltr DC5 and not an earlier 1.8ltr DC2  ? When I bought my car a while ago, Adrian Flux were unable to quote me because it was not on their books (as is the case with most companies). Tesco have been known to quote for a DC2 (even though they DO have the DC5 on their books :? ) so I'm just wondering if this is what's happened here. If not, Adrian Flux have updated their lists and that is a VERY good price :D .

Can't be sure...

The quote is on my PC at home..will check later

My quotes have varied from £1400 down to £900 so I am hopefull as all seem quite low.

I hear what you are saying though, i'll be sure to check B4 I take the plunge!
