Evening guys,

Well, as the title states, I've just driven my first DC5! See it here:

http://www.twwhiteandsons.co.uk/stock.php?stock_id=600

It was impressive, but to be honest, I knew what to expect anyway, having had the VTEC kick-in-the-arse before. I also expected it to be a hard ride and crashy over our useless roads, but my God, it was REALLY crashy! I'm not sure how much that's to do with the 18"ers that were on in or the fact that it's pretty low. I think the suspension is adjustable but will have to see - it's certainly not standard.

Anyway, the other thing was the torque steer. It was manic! Didn't expect a wrestle like that.

The car itself is spotless, in really good nick with perfect black interior. But it should be for the far side of £20k! Oh, and it's not a C-pack but does have the tints. In it's favour, the wheels are gorgeous! (Did have 2 keys as well! He he!)

Well, I was impressed but I think it's very overpriced. I'd be happy for your opinons. The garage specialises in 350Z'z and RX8's and had some mental ones of them, but I'm not sure they know too much about the Teg's, and I certainly knew more than the guy there as I was explaining about the C-pack. Another plus point is that the price includes a comprehensive 3 year warrentee which it good to have.

What are your thoughts chaps/chapesses?

That is well pricey, is there any reason why you're willing to shell out that much?

The wheels arent too much to my taste. :(

No, I wouldn't shell out that much for it at all. I think £16,000 is nearer the mark. The wheels do look much nicer in the flesh, but like you say, it's personal taste. I like them over the std wheels and thought they looked great on the car.

How much worse would the wheels and tyres have made the ride? I.e. is it a fair reflection of all DC5s?

For that money, GT-C will sell you a nearly new one with better alloys and youd come away with change! (only trouble is it 'white')

You'll need a cat 1 alarm/immob for insurance

Also i brought mine a 53 plate (04 model) for around 5k less than that!

So its up to you really but for that sort of money, you could get a new one!

pends on what car your coming from, i came from a Fiat Seicento that sat 50mm of the floor and the teg seems like luxury to me! Whilst those coming from comfort cruisers have said that its well harsh (including my mechanic who owns a cossie, had a focus rs and now has a scooby)

if it has been lowered then it possibly has affected the ride but without driving it, cant tell you....

Looking at the photos it looks like its been lowered for sure.

£20k is waaaaaay over the mark. I'd leave it.

Guys, you're missing the point! I'm know it's way overpriced and I wasn't even considering it at that price. But when handed the keys and told 'be back in half an hour' who would refuse?

Either way I walked away with a big grin :D They have two other blue ones but again are asking too much. £18995 for a 53 plate 15k miles and £18495 for a 51 plate 5800 miles. Even given the low milage they're still too much. The second one is barely run in!

first (and only!) DC5 I've driven was a right shed, handled like a shopping cart, thrashed to pieces, front bumper hanging off..the lot

She did have 207bhp at the wheels though, which was nice

I think I know what one you are on about Dave, I've heard it's a right shed as well. I feel sorry for whoever that gets offloaded onto.

Far too expensive for the mileage...mine was £18,500 but had only 1400mls,05 facelift model..the 18" wheels and lowered suspension does make a difference to the ride as I`ve done this to mine but it is still quite comfortable, only slightly harder than stock 8)
