My DC5 Gearbox

Well so far it's out and stripped.

Had a Spoon magnetic plug fitted previously and it had collected a LOT of glitter, there was still a fair bit in the oil throughout the gearbox.

ALL teeth on ALL gears are scored and shiny, showing excessive wear.

Every part excluding the casing is being replaced.
All parts mentioned in the EP3 gearbox issue are included in this.

Parts will take up to a month to arrive so I have to cancel my trackdays and live with a 1.6 Civic for a month

Will update as it goes on.

No, the plug didn't break anything,it was just showing how much metal it had picked up and yet there was still more in the gearbox oil.

Would like to know what did though, sounds like everything is misaligned or something.

Had to cancel Cadwell

Hopefully I'll only miss Cadwell, but will be back on road in time for Brands.

Did you have a word with your chap about the box Guy?

I sent you an update too, hope you got it ok.

Yeah, year and a half is not good, but by the sound of it it wasn't that old before it started.

My S2000 gearbox was shot in less than four months.

I hope it's not me

That's what I can't understand.

I've never crunched any changes, I've missed a few across the gate, but never engaged without clutch fully in :xhuh:

Think it has more to do with the issues that I have info on :|

Basically all the gearbox bar the casing...the lot.

Currently waiting on the warranty company to come and inspect.

They're trying their best to wriggle out of it,the to$$ers

No ,engineer's report said no prob on the mods, not surprised as the box will handle a lot more torque.

That being said...

...claim has been rejected as the engineers report said that even though there were signs that the box would break,it hadn't.

So won't couigh up.

If I then have the box refitted and drive it and the box breaks, they will reject...

...because they have evidence that if it is driven it will break!!!

WTF

Damned if I do,damned if I don't!!!

They have already been given a Honda report stating that Honda would honour the fix.

They admit the box will break.

They will be seeing me in court, the w@nkers!!!

Going to have to ring around for some advice methinks!!

Friday the 13th...

...Ballcocks!!

Simon, I know you probably don't want to spend any money on it at the moment, but I think I have a spare JDM gearbox if you want to get yourself on the road.

Si, I'm assuming this is not a Hondacare warranty then ??

It's like any insurance though, if there is a way out they will find it. But, this takes the biscuit a bit

Spot the difference:

2 Year Motacare Warranty:Chatting up a Nun

It's exactly the same, you won't get any joy out of either

Even got the wimpy tit to say the box was broken, then all he did was stick his head up his arse and quote the same rubbish:"Not sudden and unexpected failure of gearbox so won't pay"
"If you put the box back in and drive the car and there is sudden and unexpected failure of gearbox,we won't pay cos you know the box is broken, oopsy, sorry,I said showing signs of wear!!"

Listen to me:

If you have a Motacare warranty...BIN IT!!

Don't be offered one...and never wipe your arse on one...

you may have a sudden and unexpected prolapse of the anus (which Motacare will not pay up for!!)

Soon as I hung up the guy rang my dealer to say he'd got me calling him sweary mary names on the computer for reference.

GOOD,something your mates can laugh at then :!:

Guess I might be a little pi$$ed off hey!!
