Sorry to hear this Si. Typical warranty company.

A friend had a Pug 306 diesel which had an engine fault light come on while he was cruising on the motorway. He pulled-over as soon as he could safely in the lay-by. The warranty company said he should have pulled-over immediately and refused to pay up.

Add Warranty Holdings to you list.

I had one of those warranties too, but it ran out in Feb.

Can Nigel @ jap performance not help you in getting a cheap gearbox, since he sold you the teg originally :?:

Having to have the gearbox put back in as I can't afford the repairs and it's costing more as it drags on.

Still need to have a word with Honda as wear at this age is plain WRONG!!

Take into consideration that I've had this noise for quite some time and miles too so it went at a very young age.

Not feeling to good this week.

Well got the poor old girl back again today

In effect has had all the box internals cleaned and new oil.

Sounds a little better on road but it's still there

Must be the most expensive oil change ever @ £450 :shock: :lol:

Boy did I miss her :xcry:

After 2.5 weeks in the 1600 Civic the power came flooding back :xvtec:

no easy answer to this simon is there, i suppose you could get old of a jdm box have it rebuilt with all the latest parts from honda and then fit, it ain't going to be cheap any way you do it :cry:
is there no other weight you could put on the warranty company, what about solicitors letter?
given the inside info, surely that must make a difference,
in desperation what about watchdog (getting desperate now)

If I had some info from Honda (taps nose etc) it would actually make it harder as I can't use the term "manufacturing fault" with a non Honda warranty claim
