RE050S VS RE040S

What would the difference be between jap 040 rubber and uk 040

Is there a difference between our RE040`s and the JDM version?? I did read somewhere on the forum that most JDM tyres were slightly softer than same types here...if so how can you tell the difference..is there a mark on the tyres to tell you? My tyres are JDM RE040`s... :?
