This link will show you how to put the new belt on

http://www.itr-dc5.com/forum/index.php?/topic/30359-How-to%2E%2E%2EChange-the-Aux-belt%2E

This should tell you the size of the shorter belt

http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=696155

I looked up the belt they had and if you look at specs tab on this site it shows you in depth the measurements

http://m.autozone.com/autozone-mobile/en/parts/Belt/_/N-8gcul?id=2507

As you can tell not exactly straight forward buying from honda is maybe the better option? Genuine Honda part too!

thanks mate thats been a big help. i can see how the belt goes on now without a replacement pulley he must have been looking at a different engine on his computer as he was saying the water pump/idler is in the opposite direction so requires a pulley but obviously does not

thanks again :)

Sorry to revive an old thread but I'm having a spot of bother getting the right size belt from anywhere other than Honda. I begrudge paying £50 when it might only be left on for half hour. It's to try and diagnose the continual whining I've had for about 9 months. I'm now down to either air con or alternator and this is the easier job of the two to try.

So I've got a gates part from the Rsx site which is K060532 but from what I can gather these numbers differ to their UK part numbers. So far the best info I could get is the belt number given above is quoted as being 53.9 inches.

Can anyone confirm a UK part number?

Just for further reference I'd read that an ep3 non air con belt would fit but I can confirm it doesn't, it's too short!

Cheers,

Dave

i managed to get the right belt from a motor factor for roughly £15 i think, couldnt justify paying the £50 myself and even though it took a few tries eventually got the right size. I made sure it was a 7 rib belt not 6.

I think the code was 7pk1325 but im not 100% if you can hold on for a few days il get it for you, i did have to undo the powersteering pump to get it on but once it was fitted it was ace

Thanks both. Type K that sounds a little too tight for my liking as I want to be able to just install it in the usual way. Is your tensioner not way out of tolerance now?

The size Dave has provided is a bit longer than the one you've mentioned so makes sense that's about the right size from what you've explained.

I'll go for the belt Dave has mentioned and confirm by the weekend hopefully.

Thanks again

what ever you happy with mate but like i said when it was on it was fine and there was slack in it i found the 6 rib ones had way too much slack in them

I think they should all be 7 rib anyway mate, same as oem. I'm guessing that's what the 7 means in the 7PK part number.

I couldn't get the one you said Dave, I had to settle for 7PK1370 which is apparently only 2mm longer so fingers crossed it will work. Will let everyone know.

Well I tried 7PK1370 and it's too slack ](*,)

Dave have you actually run 7PK1368 as that would be too slack on mine too? I wondered if you were running different pulleys but then if you were they would be smaller I guess and not larger. :-k

The tensioner added no tension to 1370mm and 2mm less would have made no difference I don't think. I could squeeze the belt tighter when fitted so I'm guessing now that it needs to be nearer 1340 - 1350mm. Very difficult to work out a good length considering it needs to be under tension too. Really finding it to be trial and error at the moment. Just hope the local auto parts place don't get fed up of me returning belts

Type K, if you can, could you confirm the size you used? Was it definitely 1325 or another size? I'm thinking of trying something just a little longer than that as I don't want to have to loosen the PS pump ideally.

This thread is turning into a long list of incorrect part numbers :xlol:

7PK1345 is the correct belt to use, with just aircon delete.
I just fitted one perfectly £15 from eBay.
