Sub & box choice..

Thought i'd blow the cobwebs away in the I.C.E. sub forum - just wondered what other teg owners have picked when choosing a sub for the boot.. not concerned about mega bass power, just a nice subtle system..

Have amp sorted, but would like a sub with box combo that fits comfortably in the teg..

Had a stealth box in the CTR which fitted brilliantly into the side of the boot - but no such thing available for the teg :(

Any thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated.. :)

Yup want exactly the same sort of thing so would be interested in the replies also 8)

I was thinking of an Alpine 4 channel amp, two channel running some half decent front components and the other 2 channels bridged to run the sub :)

Hi Rob, I have some pics of a custom stealth box made by C&S Evo which sits in the right-side corner of the boot filled with a single RF T1 10".

I had something very similar made by my local audio shop, which houses a Rainbow 10"

There's another enclosure on the other side to house the Audison amp.

I might sell it soon, as I will probably be selling the car and the mods will go seperatly. The box on it's own was nearly £500 as it took the guys 1 whole day to make and the quality is top notch, the guys who made it are some of the best installers in the UK and specialise in making door pods and are official UK distributor of Seas Speakers my front components).

wicked mate, post em up !
here you go Rob. C&S Evo built the box...!! Fits so nice into the corner. (ignore the crap quality pic, taken from PDA fone).

Built a false floor to secure the box into place and wrapped in the same box material.

£250 for a box like Suped's one..that sounds fair to me and I would pay that 8)

Are they readily available ?

I went for this little focal 8" , sounds great, and the sub and box was less than getting a custom box made.

You cant fit it as nice in the corner, but it is only small so doesnt take up much room (unless like me you mount it in the middle of the boot lol) and plays brilliantly for its size.

Main thing for me was, teg is a lightweight car, i didnt want loads of wood etc.. weighing the back down, with this sub i only need a very thin piece of mdf stuck to the original carpet and the sub bolted thru and its perfect.

No probs mate. Shame I couldn't get the box out for some snaps on the rear as is very well fitted. Damn heavy to move as the sub does weigh it down abit. :p

Suped 's box took around 25 hrs for me to make plus the materials which would be close to £100. If you were to take it to a pro Audio shop and ask them to make a custom box to house a sub with that kind of power handling capabilities they would charge you more i'm sure. It comes with both parts of a Neutrik Speakon quick release connector ( what the Pro PA guys use for gigs etc) which alone is about £30. so my offer to build another for £250 i think was pretty reasonable.
