My friend has one and struggles to get 200 from a tank!

Official urban economy is something like 18mpg

Tell him to go get the Cat looked at, beter yet, get him over to RX8OC and have a look there.
Although it does depend. If you do alot of short journeys, then mpg does drop a good deal.
Motorway driving, 300 a tank is achievable.

The official urban economy is crap on all petrol cars

Even the dc2 only manages 23 and the Dc5 is slightly less. Any turbo hatch is even lower still.

It depends what you want. In my opinion though the RX8 doesn't deserve the money that you pay. Futhermore if you want a rear wheel drive why not prefer the better set up that S2000?

i have driven both and DC5 feels quicker. Really wasn't impressed at the RX8, just felt like they could have done more with the car.

I drove the RX8, it's deceivingly quick as the power is so smooth, but a std DC5 would have it in a straight line.

Round the corners it is no slouch, and had wonderfully responsive steering and responds so well to changes mid corner, but to me the experience was all a bit dull.. The teg might be a tad slower when things get twisty, but it's a lot better for driver fun.
