*Deep breath*
Right, I've done this and wish i hadn't to some degree.
If you're looking at 8's or 9's then you'll probably love it to start off. My wife has an 8MR 320 and its a fantastic car but you are always thinking in the back of your mind that something is going to go wrong. You never really relax in it and every noise you hear instantly freaks you out.
The servicing and costs of running it are nothing really, I see about 23mpg running it down a dual a carriage way every day and the tyres are not much different than the Teg.
So in summery the 8 or 9 are a good replacement but you'll be thinking how good the Teg was and the gearbox, oh the gearbox! The Teg is smooth and precise, shifting is lovely. The 8 is crunchy and rough, plus the clutch pedal is hard.
All of this was while I had my Teg, so I began to have your thoughts. I wanted an Evo of my own, so I bought a X 300 SST.
The car itself is lovely and if you bought it never owning a Teg or 8, you would love it. However, it's a very comfy motorway cruiser. It's not harsh, there's no sporty feel. I feel like I'm driving a executive car not an Evo.
I feel as though I've sold my track car for a family saloon. If you put it into auto and in normal mode and I blind folded you then you wouldn't know I was in a 300bhp sports car.
This is why I will be coming back to the fold next year, all being well.
