    GruppeM fitted

Just to remind everyone - and Hello to all you Newbies - I shaved the scoop for the very selfish reason of convenience. I agree with all the comments about it obviously having been designed to gain maximum benefit but it was a real PIA having to remove the scoop every time I checked the oil etc...

    Honda standard Sat Nav

Anty, how have you been trying to contact me? Ain't been on-site for a while but my phone's still on. What's the problem? As you know, I built the unit you've got by grafting JDM and Euro units together, Alpine just fixed the Euro unit for me, but I'll help all I can... it worked when I sold it...

Elise with K20 and Throttle bodies

Including an Elise at Cadwell - they were more than willing to discuss the transplant

    Which Exhaust?

The ORIGINAL tin-can-on-a-pipe exhaust. Around in the early 80s, it was VERY loud indeed - and they were universal so every boy-racer (except me) had one on their Mini/Escort/Allegro to compliment the Mag Wheels (which I DID have) and MirrorFlake paintjobs (Yes again)  :oops...

Tailslide, i) As mentioned earlier, try Taka Kaira (Can't remember off-hand if it's takakaira.jp co.jp or .com) - they do speak English and are well-respected in our little community for their efficiency, competitive pricing and speed of delivery. ii) I gained 9hp at the hub, tested...

    induction

Hi tailslide, I got a 'special' price from GruppeM Europe here in the UK simply because mine was to be the first here and allowed them entry to this specialised market. If you're in Asia I would consider comparing GruppeM Japan prices to those at TakaKaira - the latter seem to always hold up...

    induction

If you're staying with the stock bumper then definitely go for the GruppeM cos you haven't got the necessary rammed air without the Mugen front end. Personally I went for the GruppeM anyway (first in UK on a DC5) and still think it's one of the best 'straight-swap' mods you can do... but then...

    ACURA??

And, with all due respect, none of the Acura models meet the spec of the JDM TypeR so who wants to convert down..? :-k

    Which Exhaust?

What have you got against that track Si? Just because you took the wrong turn...   Back to topic, I agree with Simon there are too many options and not enough comparisons. His Mugen is more of a stealth option and the Spoon is a bit of a CherryBomb but you pays yer money...

    racing type r

Don't know anyone who has one but yes, they are for the track. Road legal but stripped of all the niceties that we have all come to enjoy - like sound-proofing, radio, passenger seat et al.

    induction

You'll find plenty of posts on this subject m8. Two schools of thought: closed box/cold air. Personally I went for the former (with a GruppeM), not a cheap option but an immediate power hike of 9bhp at the hubs :D . Some others swear by the Injen or similar CAI while yet others are simply...

Cadwell Park ... Thursday 19th of Aug

Well we was there! Sorry to see just two DC5s running the show (I wonder who) but had another cracking day - I just love that circuit!!! Sorry about the Panzer's slow maiden voyage but once I got the ride-height sorted was well happy with her. Now I can start playing with the mechanical side of...

a little help and advice please...

The front is where the weight is and where the greatest forces are exerted during braking/cornering hence more supporting air is required!

a little help and advice please...

Do you make a lot of late night phonecalls to lonely women  ? Mine only used to steam up with the aircon ON (only to clear in five or ten seconds), never had a problem with misting otherwise. Optimium tyre pressures (as per factory recommendations) 2.6 bar front, 2.4 bar Rear (33 and 30psi...
