What was the other car, if you don't mind me asking? The mrs has got a golf but even when I tried that it didn't even get as far as "checking model" just scrolled around searching for a protocol to use. Pretty sure you need special adapters and software for VW anyways.Chewy said:I bought one of these Torque pro ELM327 adapters from Amazon and tested it with the Torque lite app last week, at first it refused to connect to the DC5 no matter what I tried 'Cannot connect to ECU'.
I ended up testing it on the Mrs car and it connected straight away and I could use all functions, Went back to the DC5, tried it again and worked that time, tested it and all good.
For £13 (or whatever it was) I can't complain, a little laggy but no more so than the IODBii I had previously had which was x5 the price.
Try testing it on something else like i did to be sure it's an issue with the adapter or not.
