Will at RDT is also supposed to be a good mapper from what I've heard.

FL performance as above another who are supposed to be excellent.

Make sure you have at least more 1/2 tank of fuel on arrival, Not that much is going to be used, but you would be surprised how many people rock up with little fuel, I was told. haha.

You're in the same boat as me last year when I had my K100 installed, Only had a Tegiwa intake and Unsilenced B-pipe so was a little skeptical at the time but wanted to get it done and out of the way before I started throwing more parts at the engine...It was the best choice I made with the DC5.

I went with TDI North, I'm not one that cares about numbers etc, I just wanted to take it somewhere that has decent experience in all things K20*, I can't fault Paul or the service that was provided, So a great experience for me.

I think it took around 4 hours in the end.

Seeing as you have similar mods to mine at the time, here's the Dyno graph;

I wouldn't restrict yourself to a trader on here or someone who "specialises in Honda's". The best tuners should be able to tune anything and everything really well. It's all about tuning with consistency, safety, reliability. Whoever you choose, ask to go out after the work is done before you are given numbers or a graph.

To be clear, I would only endorse RDT. Hub Dynos are amazing things to see working, too.

I wholeheartedly agree with Ry. I have used Romain and I have used Will @ RDT.

Romain took just over one hour to map the car and achieved 231 bhp peak, Will took the entire day and achieved 241 bhp with exactly the same car, properly mapped from scratch across all tables. There was about £20 difference in the price.

Will is a perfectionist, a gent and has become someone I consider a friend. He was kind enough to take my car in again after I fitted a spoon b pipe and n1, road test and check all the fuelling and make two tweaks to the map without any further charges.

Having experienced the work of both of these mappers, I would only recommend Will @ RDT.

I'll be mapping car in the new year, had my ep3 done at TDI north with no complaints. Took it for a test drive after mapping and all was good.

I've seen and heard a lot of good things about RDT recently so I'm tempted to get them to map my dc5. Hmmm

30bhp increase in the midrange transforms the car, It really does!

Just shows people it's not all about those top end numbers, haha.

I guess it gives a new meaning to VTEC kicking in. Where do people usually get the VTEC brought down too with a map?

RDT are quite a bit further than eurospect for me so will most likely go there. Can you choose within reason where vtec kick in?

Yes, You can choose when VTEC engages, However that doesn't mean it'll make the car any faster/make more power as such.

You'll find most mappers will set the VTEC point to engage at the most optimum point based on a few different factors/modifications you have.

In my case, with the intake/exhaust it was moved from OEM 6200rpm to 5500rpm.

The midrange increase certainly does help with 'VTEC kicking in YO' Haha.

Do a quick search on Google for reviews on RDT before you spend any money.
I have done and not found much other than will is good, should I be reading something different?

It's always hard to judge a company if you have never used them yourself (which I haven't), so take this with a pinch of salt.

I've just heard about an experience a respected member of Civinfo had plus seen a few threads on other forums which have been negative.

Everyone makes mistakes, the difference is how companies react to them.

The other thing to consider with new people is the rareity of this car. I would rather go with someone with plenty of experience with the DC5. I've heard good things about Romain at Eurospec and Pedro at FL Performance. They've done plenty of cars on this forum it seems.

It's a k20a engine found in thousands upon thousands of cars with a few minor differences...

Never heard of Pedro, could beba good shout. Wouldn't touch Romain as you can't map a dc5 in less than a couple of hours to an expert standard and I know first hand he has done this. Another place I would never touch is Race Tech, wasted thousands with them years ago.

Not relevant to the op due to k100 but you could consider an etune, vitviper comes with an excellent reputation. I've used him myself, very good.

On the subject of mapping. How long does it take or is it like asking how long a piece of string is? Also how much does a mapping session cost - £500/£600?
