My registration lists the CO2 (g/km) as 223g/km.

What will I be paying?? I presume its the £300 in 2009??

Car Finally appeared on DVLA Website, 02 plate DC5 (Registered 1st April 08 )

CO2 Emissions 223g/Km :D

12months currently = £210 According to DVLA.

Guess this will go up to £300 in '09 but at least it's not £400!

Why is it 223? that's what confuses me?

Mines a '53' 2003 is 234 an incorrect reading or is 223? :?

I've asked a couple of times but got no response..

Is it facelifts that are 223?

Someone should make a list and a mod should stickify it. I see this becoming a common question.

Is it still possible to import a DC5 and get the lower tax band? Or are any new imports gonna be £400?

Cheers

I emailed the DVLA, they said if you don't submit a CO2 rating the car will be listed as a PLG

I don't think it is as simple as any registered from now on are going to be £400. It still has something to do with either the age of the car or what profile it is matched against etc.

Here is the DVLA report for my car which was registered 19 days ago:

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for **** *** are:

Date of Liability 01 10 2008
Date of First Registration 01 04 2008
Year of Manufacture 2002
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2000CC
CO2 Emissions 223g/Km
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour WHITE
Vehicle Type Approval M1
The information contained on this page is correct at the time of enquiry.
Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £115.50
12 Months Rate £210.00

At the moment it purely seems to be down to luck. Nice that some of that luck has come my way for once :p

Cheers mate

this is one of the things wondering whether to buy another DC2 or a DC5 - my gf likes both but prefers the DC5 looks and fact that its more comfortable etc, but at the end of the day I am trying to work out pound for poud to own, run and keep which is the best compromise and deal all round (as we will have her polo 1.2 as a run about still), was going to buy a DC2 trakc only car but as I have had a DC2 already I thought i'd consider a DC5 after driving BAzza's many times and loving it also, more comfortable, nice having 6 gears etc etc etc.
