Toyo T1-S from an online palce Anna found at about £80 each.

Best tyres I have had on a car so far and that includes a set of Bridgestone SO2's and Pirelli P-Zeros that I had on my Scooby.

Each to their own :)

Hi m8

I have to agree with rich Toyo's are very good in both the wet and dry

They give you an amassing amount of grip, however, if you push them a lot, they will wear out quickly  But, its horse for courses as they say

I recent got a set from www.mytyres.co.uk, I paid for a set of 4, £300 inc packing and postage. Fitting was £30 for all four. For the fitting, use a local independent tyre dealer, give the best service and are usually cheaper.

Put Goodyear F1s on mine about a month ago. More grip than bald Bridgestone Potenzas but the roads have been greasy so haven't really stretched them. £100 each due to friendship with independent specialist fitter.

p.s. - Due to advice, will return to Potenzas for summer/dry season.

Paul - I had a nightmare with Bridgestones both on the DC5 and on my old Scoob!! don't do it man!!! :)

BTW - Not belittling the F1 but the Falken Tyre pattern and compound is very similar to the F1's - worth a roll of the dice and may well be my next choice just to try them out!

Mine came with Yokohama Advan AO 46, I find the ride very hard and the grip in the wet poor especially when its cold their like concrete. I travel to Thailand quite often and there they change tyres every 2 years as the rubber goes so hard with the heat, so I thing this is also part of the problem.

I’m soon going to change the fronts so I’m looking for a tyre that’s has a soft compound and also good in the wet.

It’s between Toyo or F1’s as I think both these are great in the wet, but which one will give me a softer ride over our poor Gloucestershire roads, anyone compared these ??? would appreciate any comments

Don't think anyone has compared them on the DC5 but the tyres ARE similare in performance on other cars. I think the main discriminator between the two is price :)

Got F1s on mine and they're great - but expensive. Many have recommended the Toyos but my pet tyre-man refused to supply them because he doesn't rate them at all. Even those who recommend them say that they don't last too long under v-tec conditions either. I'd still like to try a set though.. :?

:xhaha2: And there was I thinking that you wore that Honda Racing jacket for something other than staying dry :?

I'd say Goodyear's are the best, but Toyo's are the best taking into account the price. I've currently got Toyo's on my FTO and have never lost it with them on. Plan to put them on the DC5 once the Bridgestone's have worn out.
Just my 2p

Help!.. need 4!!! new tyres on the teg , like yesterday!...

Can't decide what to have.. my prefered supplier/fitter wants to put on either:

AVONS or CONTINENTAL :?

Obviously honda want to put bridgestones back on it...

What else can I try? No one round here will seem to give me a price on toyo.. and to be honest I can't really wait too long for mail order etc..

What do u reckon?..

Bridgestones are the most expensive option and there are differing opinions as to whether they are worth the money - the general consensus seems to be that they are the best dry-weather available but can let go in the wet/damp. Many prefer (even swear by) Toyos but my supplier has had safety issues with them in the past and refused to do them on mine whilst even those who recommend them say they don't last long. My 'compromise' (supplier really likes the Bridgestone) was Eagle F1s - spot on but also expensive.

Hi, thanx for that.. glad to hear you like the Goodyears, I ended up ordering 4x EAGLE F1 GS-D3's they'll be here tomorrow! :)
So do you think the bridgestones will out preform the F1's in the dry?
