those with Sainsbury Insurance, have you always had to send in proof of alarm; but still confused how they quote online and yet T&Cs state they don't cover imports which were not available here?

Cracking result
Did you question the t&c imported? They do cover import if the cars were available here but dc5 was never?

Just grabbed a quote for mine that's arriving at the end of the month, 9+ NCB, 29 years old and living in north Wiltshire, came back as £237, extremely happy with that!

That is very good
Add on a few extras it will go up, like protected no claims, personal injury etc. but still a very good price

I Got a cracking quote with Sainsbury`s insurance but as others state it was a very basic quote.
Once I added on a mod, courtesy car, protected no claims it went up from about £300 to just over £400.

Greenlight were just a bit over £400 and a specialist firm with great friendly staff. No brainer.

My insurance expires tomorrow which is with Greenlight so these past few weeks I've been going online and getting different quotes and prices with the best so far being Sainsbury's at £315 which I got online about a month ago.

I've tried various different companies and no one can match that offer so went online today to get another quote from them and it had gone up to £405!!

So I decided to call them as I spotted my original quote of £315 had been emailed to me a month ago and was valid until April 8th. Spoke to them about half an hour ago and they have honoured the original quote so well happy with that.

Deposit of £54 with 10 monthly payments of £29 that's with 9 years no claims aged 35 fully comprehensive, that's come down from £49 a month which is a massive saving. I like Greenlight and their staff are very polite and helpful but they couldn't match Sainsbury's price which is a real shame otherwise I'd have been more than happy to stay with them.

So give Sainsbury's a try, they're one of the few places that actually list an Integra DC5 as a 2.0l as well.

How's sainsburys for declaring mods ?

Hands down i personally would go green light majority mods all covered for free

Only extra I had to pay was for JRSC and that was only about £60 lol

I don't have any mods bar an exhaust and springs which I had to declare but they quoted me cheap enough.

One thing I might add, the cheap quote I had was done a month in advance and luckily they honoured that quote. The more quotes you do nearer to the time your insurance expires the more expensive it will be and I didn't realise this so bear this in mind.

I was with Greenlight myself bud they couldn't give me a decent enough renewal price which I was gutted about but that's not to say they won't work out better for other people.

I have insurance with Sainsburys and phoned up today to add on mods, wheels, exhaust and suspension, the premium didn't change. To be honest tho the woman I spoke to didn't really seem to have a clue about anything so I'm going to wait until the new paper work comes through and phone up again to check finer details.

Wow! Is all I got to say about sainsburys thank you very much. My renewal came through from admiral on a multi car policy and quoted me £650 for the dc5 and £300 for my partners car. So tried greenlight and they quoted me £499 for the dc5. I then saw this and thought I'd give them ago and glad I did as they quoted me £190 for the dc5 and the same for my partners car 😊
I'm well impressed with sainsburys and would recommend anyone else looking to give them ago 👍
