    What's latest on tyres all?

It depends how you're using the car, a good tyre to use daily in all conditions on the road won't compare to a proper track tyre on track and in the right conditions. And vice versa. I had AD08's and they are good, but they are no better than federal rsr's in any conditions on road or track...

    Cracked discs.

Thread revival! Just to add to this, my set of these discs have now also cracked along the grooves. They lasted 7 track days and considerable road mileage (mainly motorway miles getting from Scotland to English track days though), but don't look worn out yet. Disappointing from such an...

NH0 Powder coat - RAL equivalent

I'm a bit late to the party, but I can 100% vouch for their work. I used them for a set of BMW wheels a couple of years ago and the finish and service was spot on, especially given they are half the price of "the wheel specialist" in Aberdeen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Daily Drive - Bilstein B16 Coilovers or OEM Springs

This was mine last time I cleaned them, a few weeks ago. I used the anti rust stuff and greased the threads before installing them and for the 3 years since then I've just wiped them down and recoated them with white lithium grease once a year. The springs are just surface rust, nothing to worry...

Daily Drive - Bilstein B16 Coilovers or OEM Springs

For what it's worth, here's my thoughts as a MeisterR owner... I've had them on my DC5 for 3 years and 30k miles. They have done 11 trackdays and are still spot on. Sure they are firm on the road, and a more expensive setup would probably be better here, but if setup properly they are perfectly...

    1st track day

I've just finished a set of RS29 pads in the oem brembo caliper, and will definitely be replacing them with another set over winter. They lasted for 10 trackdays and quite a few road miles. They work well from cold on the road, but the hotter they get, the better they are. Only downsides are...

    Performancetek, Glasgow, for remap

The tdi north guy comes up to performancetek to do mapping for them once a month or so, I've been told.

    Jamie FYD DC5

I enjoy his videos, but he needs to be a bit more critical in my opinion. He likes everything, about every car he drives, which can't possibly be the case!

    Cracked discs.

I've been running these discs with pagid rs29 pads (pagid sell these as endurance racing pads, so pretty aggressive) for over a year now and done heaps of trackdays on them with no issues at all. I'll be keeping a close eye on them after seeing this, but it's probably more likely yours were a...

Rust treatment - Aberdeenshire based traders?

Good to know! I've still not got round to getting mine done.

Excessive rear pad wear on track

Ideally you want to have a balance with the pads. I had ds2500 fronts and oem rears which were fine on track. I went for a more aggressive front pad after that and the oem rear pads melted within a few sessions on track. Now with ds2500 on the rear the balance is fine again, these pads have...

    Which coilovers?

I had a rack raiser fitted to my car and it had to be removed when I fitted MeisterR coilovers as with it fitted the toe couldn't be adjusted anywhere near where it should be. The garage tried many times, but as soon as the rack raiser was removed, the alignment worked first time.

    RE070s vs Federal 595 RS-R

I've got both! Re070 make for an excellent all rounder, even on track they held up surprisingly well. The RSR are much more suited to track though, lasting much longer before overheating. Neither are brilliant in the wet due to the tread designs, but as long as standing water can be avoided...

Winter tyres - do any of you run these

When my DC5 was in daily use, I used kumho winter tyres during winter. Living quite far north in Scotland, and out in the country, it was a no brainier for me. You've got to remember they aren't "snow tyres" so even if it doesn't snow you'll still see the benefit of them. They were noticeable...

    Brake advice

Much more powerful, but that could be down to the pads... Last year I was using mtec discs and ds2500. The discs were warping after every trackday. Now on the spd 2 piece discs and pagid rs29 pads. The pads were expensive, but are supposedly more of an endurance racing pad? They have phenomenal...

    Brake advice

I don't for one minute regret forking out for the spd automotive 2 piece discs. They have impressed me right from the start, and easily managed my trackday season. They don't even look worn at all yet, and I've definitely been much harder on them than I was any previous setup.

    Newbie from Aberdeenshire

There are a few of us, although I've never actually met any of the others! haha. Most DC5 owners up here don't seem to be members though sadly.

    Newbie from Aberdeenshire

Hi Aaron, I also travelled from Aberdeen to get mine from torque gt three years ago. It's a long trip, but definitely worth it. I'm just south of Stonehaven, but work in Aberdeen so will keep an eye out for you!

    Advice on shorter tie rods

Grinspeed managed to get mine to -1.7 deg front camber with the MeisterR's and eibach camber bolts. I'm still running the oem steering arms.
